Formally established in 1976, the International Center (functioning within the department of Global Patient Services) provides high-quality service and care to all international patients and their families.

The International Center's staff includes more than 60 Patient Service Specialists, Patient Service Coordinators, Financial Counselors and medical education experts striving to make sure all your special needs are met. This staff of dedicated professionals can help with the following services before, during and after your visit.

Medical Concierge assists patients in their travel by providing access to discounts on hotels and housing, when available; connecting patients with a travel service to schedule airline reservations; assisting with reservations for hotel or housing accommodations and arranging ground transportation

Before:

* Scheduling medical appointments
* Confirming and rescheduling airline reservations
* Making hotel or housing arrangements in Cleveland
* Arranging ground transportation from the airport and securing car rentals
* Collecting an initial deposit for scheduling purposes and estimating the cost of services

During:

* Providing a Patient Service Specialist for medical appointments
* Assisting with hospital admissions and follow-up doctor visits
* Ensuring patients understand instructions from physicians
* Arranging leisure activities for the family
* Estimating the cost of services and collecting payment for services rendered
* Collecting any additional deposits as needed or applicable deductibles for scheduled medical services

* Helping obtain copies of medical reports/films after consultations are completed

If you have medical insurance, please bring your insurance card with you to all appointments. Cleveland Clinic will bill the insurance for all applicable medical services. You will be responsible for any corresponding deductibles, office visit copayments and coinsurance as well as any services that are denied by your insurer.

If you are a self-paying patient, a deposit is required before any medical services can be rendered. Estimates can be obtained through the department in which your appointments are scheduled prior to your appointment or admittance to the hospital. All quotes for your procedures and services at Cleveland Clinic are estimates only. The final bill will not be calculated until after your hospital stay is completed. The final amount due can vary substantially based on the actual services rendered. Quoted prices include all physician and hospital fees but do not include the cost of incidental charges such as hotel, transportation and phone calls.
