DMC International Services attends to the special concerns and needs of international patients and their families. Staff members can help with all aspects of planning a visit to the Detroit Medical Center providing one efficient process to ensure all aspects of care are addressed. DMC International Services provides:

- One-on-one contact with an International Service Representative to ensure full coordination of all services and appointments, before, during and after stay to include but not limited to:

- Translation
- Coordination to ensure continuum of care
- Visa verification letters

- One-on-one contact to ensure that all customer service needs are addressed:

- Transportation arrangements
- Arranging accommodations both on campus and at area hotels
- Specialized dietary requirements

- One contact to facilitate all financial aspects of patient’s care:

- Cost estimates and package pricing
- Billing and facilitation of out-of-country insurances
- One remittance for all DMC services

International Center/Guest Housing:

The Detroit Medical Center is pleased to provide overnight and short term accommodations to patients, family and visiting staff. The secure, convenient housing which is located directly on the DMC campus includes:

- One bedroom suites – available with living room, bedroom and full-service kitchen
- Single units – include 1 queen or 2 twin beds and standard room accommodations
- Continental breakfast
- Laundry facilities
- Shuttle service within the DMC campus
- Free adjacent parking

The Detroit Medical Center Medical Group participate in numerous health plans. Health Plan participation is dependent on the choice of the physicians and the consumer. Participation in health plans change frequently for both physicians and consumers.

If you are enrolled in a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), you must choose a primary care physician (PCP) to help you manage your care. Contact your insurance carrier to make your PCP selection or to change a PCP assignment made by your plan on your behalf. Depending on your health plan, you may need a referral from your PCP to be seen by a specialist.
