For International Patients:

Representatives from our Guest Services Program want to take the worry out of making arrangements for the unique needs patients have while they are in town. They will:

- Answer questions related to a patient's visit, hospital admission, family lodging, travel and transportation.
- Provide information about banking and currency exchange, and assist in performing these transactions.
- Arrange for transportation to and from local airports (helicopter or airplane emergency transport is available if needed). Additionally, Henry Ford Hospital Campus has an on-site travel agency for making commercial travel arrangements.
- For patients or families who do not speak English, Guest Services can arrange to have an interpreter available at the time of arrival or during any part of their stay.
- Religious or cultural support is available by request for those wishing to maintain their at-home lifestyle as much as possible.

For Canadian Patients:

-Call 1-800-HENRYFORD (436-7936). You will be connected to staff dedicated to assisting Canadian patients. They will schedule a consultative appointment with a physician who specializes in your condition.

- Your Canadian family physician will need to complete a "Prior Approval Application for Full Payment of Insured Out-of-Country Health Services" form and submit it to the Ministry of Health.

- The Ministry of Health will contact us for information about the procedure and cost. If the Ministry of Health approves your request for services, your Care Coordinator will contact you to schedule a procedure date.

- If the Ministry of Health does not approve your procedure, you will have the option of paying for the procedure yourself. Or your Henry Ford specialist will work with your family practice doctor to devise a treatment plan for your care in Canada.
