Allegheny General Hospital has a number of nationally recognized, disease-specific comprehensive centers, including those for child and adolescent psychiatry, cranial nerve disorders, diabetes, digestive health, epilepsy, genetic disease, hearing and balance disorders, lung and thoracic disease, minimally invasive surgery, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, neuro-oncology, orthopaedic surgery, skull base and endoscopic neurosurgery, spasticity and movement disorders, spinal disorders, vascular diseases and wound care.

Allegheny General?s highly regarded sports medicine program serves as the official medical provider for the Pittsburgh Pirates professional baseball club. The hospital also supports and directs numerous scholastic sports medicine programs.
