Henry Ford Hospital is a 903-bed tertiary care hospital, education and research complex located in Detroit’s New Center area. The hospital is a multi-organ transplantation center and Level 1 trauma center. Henry Ford Hospital is listed in “Best Hospitals in America” (Visible Ink Press). Its doctors are routinely named among America’s best.

Representatives from our Guest Services Program can assist with arrangements for the unique needs patients have while they are in town:

- Answer questions related to a patient’s visit, hospital admission, family lodging, travel and transportation.

- Provide information about banking and currency exchange, and assist in performing these transactions.

- Provide information about transportation to and from local airports (helicopter or airplane emergency transport is available, if needed). Additionally, Henry Ford Hospital has an on-site travel agency for making commercial travel arrangements.

- For patients or families who do not speak English, Guest Services can arrange to have an interpreter available at the time of arrival or during any part of their stay.

- Religious or cultural support is available by request for those wishing to maintain their at-home lifestyle as much as possible.

The Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute is one of Henry Ford Health System’s busiest Centers of Excellence treating more than 114,000 patients each year. It is ranked among the top cardiac centers in the nation by US News & World Report. The program is one of only two in Michigan for advanced heart failure treatment options and one of the few programs in the country offering robotically assisted laporoscopic aortic surgery.

-Robotic Prostate Surgery
More robotic prostate surgeries have been done here than any other hospital in the world.

Pioneered by Mani Menon, M.D., and the Henry Ford Vattikuti Urology Institute, the robotic prostatectomy surgically removes cancer while offering a high probability of preserving sexual function and urinary control. Patients from all 50 states and more than two dozen countries have traveled to have the procedure performed by the world’s most experienced team.

- The emergency treatment of all different types of stroke when they occur

- The outpatient treatment required for recovery after stroke, and
- The development of brain neuroregeneration and other novel therapies aimed to help stroke patients and to prevent future stroke from occurring

- Liver Disease Center

The Henry Ford Liver Disease Center is one of the nation’s largest and most experienced in treating patients with liver diseases. Thousands of patients every year are cared for by the Center’s comprehensive team of diagnostic, medical, interventional, surgical, and organ transplant specialists who provide advanced diagnostic studies and a wide range of therapies matched to each patient’s type of liver disease.
