King’s International & Private Patients Service

King?s College Hospital in London is a prestigious international teaching hospital with a history of clinical excellence dating back to 1840.

Its Private Patient Service is called King?s International and is housed in the Guthrie Wing, where patients from both the UK and overseas are given the highest standards of clinical and customer care. We treated the residents of more than 50 countries last year.

The service includes:

* A General Manager and a Clinical Director designated to you
* Highly-commended and skilled nursing and pharmacy teams dedicated to patient safety and care
* Top customer service set by the ?King?s behaviour standards? programme.
* Consultants whose clinical practice is up to date because they work in the UK?s National Health Service (NHS)
* As an international teaching hospital we have a pool of clinical expertise to draw upon and doctors who can respond quickly from the main hospital

The income generated from your stay will be used to maintain and develop services for all patients attending King?s College Hospital, both private and NHS.

International Prices and Pay

We accept self-paying patients from the UK and overseas. Special pricing packages – where the only extras you pay for are telephone calls – are sometimes available. It depends on the condition being treated. Self-paying patients can pay using all major credit/debit cards, a banker?s draft or cheque but we advise against cash payments.

We also accept patients sponsored by major corporations and overseas embassies through letters of guarantee to cover the costs of treatment. All major insurance companies approve us.

If you need to discuss prices and how to pay, interpreters can be arranged for almost any nationality either face to face (for a small charge) or through our 24-hour live telephone interpretation services. Please allow 24 hours notice if travelling from overseas.

For more advice on payments, please contact our referral office.

We offer international and UK private patients some of the most advanced medical treatments available.

This includes specialist expertise in liver medicine (we have the largest paediatric liver transplant programme in Europe), haematology (the hospital is a specialist centre for adult Bone Marrow Transplantation), and adult and paediatric neurosurgery (we run the UK’s largest neurosurgical unit).

We also have a range of other clinical specialities such as cardiology and cardiac surgery, and obesity surgery.

For more details on the services we offer in selected areas of specialist expertise, please visit the sections on liver medicine, haematology and neurosurgery. We have also included a list of consultants and their specialist fields.
